It's bad enough that we all have to get old and can't stay young forever, but it gets even worse when a person who is elderly is not only stuck with old age and a handicapped but is also finding themselves living away from their homes and in a nursing home. These places can help make the senior feel all alone and even completely isolated from the rest of the world.
Everyone loves to have a party, no matter what the age, parties are a great way to get together with friends and family and just enjoy good food , good conversation and fun. Parties can be especially important to seniors, especially those that find themselves in a retirement home or an assisted living facility.
Motivation is very important in everyone's lives and as kids and younger adults we have lots of things that help keep us motivated. Children play all day and go to school and as adults we work, take care of the kids and the house and many other activities. But eventually we start to slow down and there are less and less things to do and less and less things that keep us motivated.
We live in a society that is truly fixated on trying to stay young for as long as you can and it's a society that seems to hold more value in youth than any other stage of our lives. This then of course makes it difficult for most people to accept the fact that they are aging. It makes it extremely difficult for many to face the aging process.
With the numbers of seniors increasing every year with the baby boomers reaching retirement age the need for those social workers that help provide them with a variety of different services is increasing as well.
With the growth in the senior population, the need for senior companions has also risen. There are many seniors that simply can't drive around or even get to socialize because they just are no longer able to do so without some sort of assistance. So the need for a senior companion can become an option for some seniors.
